Teaser Tuesdays – The Grapes of Wrath

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.  Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!  (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away!  You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week, my teaser comes from John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, page 91:

“Ma chuckled lightly and scrounged the clothes in and out of the bucket. And she wrung out overalls and shirts, and the muscles of her forearms corded out.”

Please feel free to share yours with me in the comments section!

I’m still reading the book I Teaser Tuesday-ed last week, so my teaser this go-round is about a book just coming out today, and can be found over at bookwanderer!

  2. I can’t imagine laundry by hand. I loved reading this book in High school!

  4. Loved this book when I read it many years ago. I’m not sure I’d be able to read it again today – probably a little too depressing. But a great book. Excellent teaser!
