Teaser Tuesdays – The Paradiso

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.  Anyone can play along!  Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!  (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away!  You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week comes from Dante’s The Paradiso, page 39, lines 13-15:

I was not ware of our ascending to it;
But of our being in it gave full faith
My Lady whom I saw more beauteous grow.

Please feel free to share your’s with me in the comments section!

  1. I have the Inferno and Purgatorio. I really need to get to the books.

    Here is mine

    • They definitely take a time investment to read. I’ve been reading them since November I want to say. They are definitely worth the investment though.

  2. I’ve read bits of The Paradiso – some day I hope to get around to reading the whole thing. Excellent teaser!

  3. As usual, a really lovely teaser. I don’t have Dante’s books, but now you’re giving me a yen to reread Milton. 🙂

    Meanwhile, my own teaser is at Bookishgal.

    • I read a bit of Paradise Lost in college, and I really enjoyed those excerpts. I’m thinking of picking it up later on this year.

  4. Beautiful teaser! I really need to read this.
